A family dislocated due to fire, flooding, eviction or other unplanned situation needs household essentials immediately, not days from now.
A kinship caregiver answers the door to children arriving unexpectedly, with no clothing, sufficient food, or enough beds or other supplies on hand.
These and other unanticipated circumstances have urgent in-the-moment needs that can’t wait. Now, thanks to Pathways to Provisions: The Food and Care Corner, they don’t have to.
What Pathways to Provisions Offers
We’re proud to launch Pathways to Provisions: The Food and Care Corner, an internal emergency resource centre created and operated by CASDSM staff. More than shelves of food and supplies, Pathways to Provisions is a commitment to ensuring children, youth, and families associated with our agency receive immediate, compassionate support when urgent needs arise.
While local food banks and community programs remain vital, transportation, distance, hours of operation, availability and limited accessibility can be barriers in urgent situations. Pathways to Provisions helps bridge that gap with same-day support delivered with dignity and care.
How You Can Help Right Now
Keeping this space stocked and ready takes community effort. Here’s how you can make an impact today:
- Donate non-perishable food, including culturally inclusive items such as halal, kosher, vegan, vegetarian, and items that are gluten-free.
- Provide baby supplies like formula, diapers, and wipes.
- Give household essentials such as toilet paper, cleaning products, laundry soap, garbage bags, and resealable baggies.
- Contribute hygiene items including shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products.

Individuals or small donations: Bring them during office hours (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. September to June; 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. July and August).
Businesses, groups, or large donations: Please schedule in advance by emailing Pathways to Provisions or calling 705-566-3113 ext. 3030.
Prefer to give financially? You can make a secure monetary contribution through our CanadaHelps page. Select the Emergency Support Fund campaign. Tax receipts are provided for all monetary contributions.
